What is a Foster?

 A dog foster home is a temporary home for a dog that needs to be adopted. Foster parents provide the dog with care, love, and socialization until they find a permanent home. 

BE CAREFUL BEFORE answering an individual on social media to "foster" a dog.  Who is going to re-home this dog?  Provide it's vetting care?  Pay for the food?  Place in boarding when you are on vacation?  Many answered ads on Social Media end up in a no win situation and you find out you now own the dog by state law standards.  Be INFORMED and stick with reputable rescues.
